Hello & Welcome

Meet Yasha and Juergen. Our travel blog is atypical because we travel differently, not flying from one dream destination to the next. Our choice instead: to take it slowly, take side roads, discover places aside from the typical "bucket list" and guidebook highlights. We drive and live in our self-built overland camper, called [~~"Berta"~~] "Bertita" (little Berta since 2018 in Europe). You can read more on our "About Us" page.

We love sharing our impressions and knowledge gained along the way. You will find a wealth of information on our site, especially if you love road trips. So stay around and explore with us!

Celebrate with us!

Yes, this year our website dare2go.com celebrates 20 Years online! We registered the domain in late 2005 and uploaded the first page in early 2006, just before we left on our first Pan-American trip.

The first website was a simple HTML-layout done by Juergen. Although, for the time, it displayed some features which would only become more ‘familiar’ in later years – like a tabbed layout: text on one page, a map of the recent journey on the second tab, and a photo gallery on the third tab. Unfortunately, it wasn’t “mobile friendly” — those handheld devices to access the internet weren’t around in 2005!
So, after Google’s constant complaints, we decided to delete our ‘Archive’ in 2018.
