Having seen hay baling as a kid, I wanted to see how the modern plastic-packed bales were made. By complete chance, I had a front row seat!

Valdivia has some beautiful architecture and the river. Niebla is peaceful and quiet with lovely vistas. We were surprised and stayed longer than planned.

Living Fossils at Nahuelbuta National Park

The Nahuelbuta National Park is worth a visit for amazing sights, including the “living fossil” of the majestic Monkey Puzzle tree, but it can be a bit difficult to access with a large vehicle.

The day started well then turned bad – we were violently attacked in a tourist town by a drunk local who appeared to object to our presence on the road.
